Stellwerk18 is the flagship project of the Digital Economy Association in South-East Upper Bavaria eV. With over 50 corporate partners and 24 startups currently supporting it, the professional association “Stellwerk18 – Digital Economy of Southeast Bavaria eV” is a key success factor for the ongoing digitization across Region 18 – and not only for the city and district of Rosenheim, but also nationwide for the counties of Mühldorf am Inn, Altötting, Traunstein and Berchtesgadener Land.

Rosenheim – Thanks to the first location, which was opened in Rosenheim in 2018, the digital start-up center for start-ups with digital business ideas offers not only access to investors, but most of all modern infrastructure with the latest technology, fast Internet and inexpensive space office and free coaching and consulting services, incl. through BayStartUP, as well as contacts in medium-sized industry.

In turn, startups are an ideal partner for medium-sized companies: With their technological innovations, flexible and creative problem-solving approaches and digitization know-how, they act as sparring partners and initiators when it comes to integrating and applying new ideas and digital technologies in their own company. This creates benefits for all parties.

COUNTY OF TRAUNSTEIN

Region 18 is a very friendly region with an incredibly diverse offer of companies. However, when it comes to startups and the promotion of founders with digital business ideas, you need a competent point of contact in rural areas.

Stellwerk18 has developed into a very good center for these activities, although as Managing Director of Chiemgau GmbH in Traunstein County I attach great importance to the fact that founders and young start-ups stay with us and still have a start-up center offer to be able to benefit from.

Current and planned offers:

  • Digital founders can take advantage of Bay StartUP advice directly in the Forum Chiemgau rooms at Traunsteiner Stadtplatz. The business development department of Chiemgau GmbH is also located here.
  • Chiemgau GmbH works closely with Stellwerk18 and the business development agencies of neighboring districts to organize a wide range of consultancy in the form of joint lectures, seminars and workshops.
  • Established companies gain new impetus and creative ideas through exchanges with young founders. Joint events and networking create a good framework for new cooperation. We specifically support the membership of companies in the Stellwerk 18 network from the very beginning.
  • Strengthening regional added value is more important than ever, which is why the first joint project with Tyrolean colleagues was carried out last year as part of “Company Speeddating”.
  • We also actively support cooperation in the expansion of the Chiemgau campus with an emphasis on digitization in Traunstein

COUNTY OF MÜHLDORF AM INN

The centrally located yet rural district of Mühldorf am Inn combines the advantages of a great business location with the possibilities of living close to nature and high recreational value.

The strength of our poviat is the diversified industry structure – from global companies to medium-sized craft plants.

The A94 as an economic thoroughfare connects the region with the Munich agglomeration. We are convinced that we are also a great point of contact for start-ups.

Together with the district of Altötting, we are developing the Inn-Salzach start-up region. In addition to our partners – such as chambers and active seniors – we will also work more closely with Stellwerk18 – even more: We want to become a satellite location for Rosenheim!

COUNTY OF ALTÖTTING

For many years we have been working closely with the Mühldorf am Inn district and cooperation partners such as IHK, HWK and active seniors supporting start-ups in our region.

Those interested can find all the tips and events related to starting a business on the common website www.gruenderregion-inn-salzach.de.

I am especially pleased that thanks to Stellwerk18 we now have a strong partner on our side who wants to work with us to expand the network of medium-sized companies and start-ups in the Inn-Salzach region.

In the chemical triangle in particular, we have great potential in established companies that can benefit from their ideas and visions by collaborating with innovative start-ups.

And of course the other way around! The company founders find a home in the Töging start-up center which, in addition to economic development, is now becoming a focal point in the Stellwerk network18.

THE BERCHTESGADEN LAND DISTRICT

Berchtesgadener Land Wirtschaftsservice also offers founders a range of support services. In this way, the founders receive personal and long-term support and assistance in developing a business model and creating a business and financial plan.

Particularly valuable here is the intermediation in contacts with recognized companies from the region and integration into a functioning network that offers even a supra-regional, even more diverse platform for digital business models via Stellwerk18.

Local and real estate services also offer assistance in finding office, work and commercial space in BGL. Events such as “Startup Camps” with various workshops or Gründerherbst / Founder Spring with online or hybrid events on topics relevant to founders offer start-ups the opportunity to take their first structured steps towards self-employment with like-minded people and with expert support.

Both events are held in collaboration with the Traunstein Economic Development Agency, Stellwerk18 and the Berchtesgadener Land Wirtschaftsservice.

A network for the entire South-East of Upper Bavaria – economic development agencies as subsidiaries

The vision of the Managing Director of Stellwerk dr. In addition to the location in Rosenheim, Florian Wiesböck is to establish further branches of the Upper Bavaria Southeast Digital Economy Association with appropriate infrastructure in close cooperation with local universities, chambers and business development agencies.

They should then become the contact points for the founders in the counties BGL, Mühldorf, Altötting and Traunstein and provide the same support offers.

Until its implementation, however, interested parties may contact the economic development agencies in the region. There they already receive the same support offers – i.e. access to the investor network, coaching with BayStartUP and contact with other founders for exchange.

When it comes to finding infrastructure, i.e. on-site office space and technology, business development agencies also provide help and advice. They work in close cooperation with Stellwerk 18 and can advise the founders of Region 18 directly.

Free consultation days and BayStartUP mentoring: the idea alone is not enough!

Every digital start-up in the region has the opportunity to take advantage of free coaching from the Stellwerk digital start-up center18. In addition to the digital business idea, a prerequisite for this is the initial contact through the appropriate business development agency and filling out the application form with all the key data of the start-up (https://www.stellwerk18.de/contact).

In an introductory two-hour interview, BayStartUP trainer Markus Schilling develops a monetization strategy in a protected environment, neutrally and without self-interest.

“We focus on questions such as” who are the first customers? “,” How do you get paid for the technical idea? “,” What is the specific benefit for potential customers? “,” How significant is the idea “, and development is a unique selling point”, Markus Schilling explains.

“It does not mean that I work it out for the founders – the driving force of the business idea and decision-makers are and will remain the start-ups themselves” – says Schilling. I offer founders the opportunity to “find the playing field”, think outside the box and, with my experience and openness, set guidelines for a possible path. ” Then the start-up center decides on further dates.

“We found out about Stellwerk18 thanks to the TechDivision usability test” and after a quick initial contact, we were immediately invited to a meeting to get to know each other. This was followed by a very helpful exchange with the Stellwerk18 teams as well as BayStartUP.

Immediately after joining the Stellwerk18 startup network and related social media posts, we were contacted by many interested parties from all over Bavaria and we look forward to the regional network and the upcoming Stellwerk18 “Open Day”.

Through Stellwerk18 and its partner “Wirtschaftsförderung Traunstein / Chiemgau GmbH”, we ask for help with start-up issues such as funding opportunities or networking.

There are good reasons to become a member of the Professional Association of Digital Economy in South-East Upper Bavaria. On the one hand, I like to think nationally, think outside the box and meet new partners. It also gives us new impetus and new perspectives as a company – it is important to remain competitive!

On the other hand, thanks to membership, we have built a very good connection with TH Rosenheim. We have already started research projects and have been working closely together ever since.

Another important reason is the contact with start-ups from the region, which often approach topics in a very flexible and uncomplicated way, which also inspires me a lot.

Companies and founders benefit and learn from each other! A win-win situation – it doesn’t get any better than this!
