It was worth the wait: four My Chemical Romance 2022 downhill concerts in Germany
Hopefully Corona and the tour delays are slowly coming to an end: Instead of two exclusive open-air concerts, the band now comes to Germany four times live. After breaking up in 2013, the influential New Jersey band returned to the stage in December 2019 for the first time in six years. In Los Angeles, My Chemical Romance celebrated an impressive … A concert return to the completely sold-out Shrine Auditorium. Soon after, the band confirmed further downhill concerts in Great Britain, Japan and Australia – in early 2020, two stops of the German tour in Bonn were pre-sold. The tickets were completely sold out in a matter of hours.
The Los Angeles convention concert at the end of 2019 had already sparked off a rush: tickets were gone within minutes. At her reunion show in LA, the band played about 20 songs from the previous four studio albums – there were no new songs in the set list. The fans went on a journey from the beginning to the end of the band’s existence and had their own little journey through the old days. The Chem kicked off the concert with the song “I’m Not Okay” from their second studio album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. An intricately produced, spooky clip for new dates in the US that came out in Fall 2020 – with lots of song references:
Many fans suspect that in addition to selected concert dates, new songs from My Chemical Romance will be released soon. The reason: the band announced their UK concert at Milton Keynes with a mysterious music video that was backed by a song that was yet to be known. Gerard Way, Ray Toro, Mikey Way, and Frank Iero also make it really exciting.
