UBM and CA Immo sell Kaufmannshof residential and office project in Mainz customs port for almost EUR 50 million

Mainz, June 9, 2022 (ots)

Together with CA Immo Deutschland GmbH, UBM Development Deutschland GmbH sold the project “Kaufmannshof” at the customs port of Mainz to a German family company for approximately EUR 48.5 million, which was developed in a joint venture. The construction of “Kaufmannshof” at the Hafeninsel V construction site will begin in the second quarter of 2020, and completion is scheduled for the third quarter of 2022.

The team responds to the historic port architecture with various elements, and at the same time creates an inspiring environment for contemporary forms of life and work. In total, 45 apartments, 5 port houses (tenement houses) and approx. 3,277 m² of commercial space are being built.

Christof Altendorfer, Managing Director of CA Immo Deutschland and Director of Investment Management: “As one of the developers in the Zollhafen district, we are delighted that our concept of a living and sustainable mix of applications is welcomed by residents, tenants’ offices and investors. We reinvest our sales revenues into ESG-compliant A-class office projects, refurbishment projects or existing properties in the company’s main markets. “

“The project shows that our green. smart. and more. is very well received by the market “, emphasizes Werner Huber, Managing Director of UBM Development Germany,” so it is no coincidence that sustainability, building intelligence and aesthetics around 90% of the outstanding retail premises are already leased. “

The district development project at the former Mainz customs port is not a new area for both UBM and CA Immo. The “Waterkant” and “Super 8 Hotel” residential projects have already been completed and sold by UBM. The fully leased office project “ZigZag” realized by CA Immo in 2021 also highlights the successful creation of a customs port. In addition to the “Kaufmannshof” project, the “Flößerhof” project is currently underway, both as part of the CA Immo / UBM partnership.

In the first quarter of this year, UBM Development acquired four additional building plots with a total area of over 42,000 m² at the customs port in Mainz. About 75 percent of the area directly above the water is intended for residential use and 25 percent for retail / offices, all of which are to be built in climate-friendly hybrid-timber construction. For UBM, the customs port of Mainz is thus becoming one of the key projects in one of Germany’s most exciting cities.

Around the 80,000 m² harbor basin, an urban mix of individually designed townhouses, condominiums for around 2,500 residents and modern office properties with around 4,000 jobs is gradually being built. Gastronomy, hotels, kindergartens, shops and very attractive leisure activities make the customs port of Mainz a desirable address. CA Immo Deutschland GmbH and Stadtwerke Mainz AG are involved as neighborhood developers.

UBM Development develops real estate for European metropolises. There is a strategic emphasis on green buildings and smart offices in major cities such as Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt and Mainz. EcoVadis’ Gold Rating and ISS ESG prime status confirm our consistent focus on sustainability. With almost 150 years of experience, UBM offers all programming services, from planning to marketing, from a single source. The shares are listed on the main market of the Vienna Stock Exchange, in a segment with the highest transparency requirements.
