From “Big B on the Spree” to Warnow: A lightning-fast criticism of the Seeed concert in Rostock Iga Park
Rostock. The S-Bahn towards Warnemünde is full this Friday night. Hundreds of people stand tightly packed side by side before almost all of them finally get off at Lütten Klein. The traffic on the Groß Kleiner Damm goes backwards: the road is closed and vehicles are changed.

Everyone has a common goal: this evening there will be a Seeed concert in Iga Park. The Berlin band has traveled from “Dicken B an der Spree” to Warnow – and there are nearly 12,000 Rostockers there. It is the biggest concert so far this year in Rostock.
Seeed has fans under control
The group that finally takes the stage is also numerous. As soon as the musicians are visible, the crowd bursts into cheers. Seeed starts with “Ticket” from the 2019 album “Bam Bam” followed by “Less’ sie gehn”. “Hello Rostock – are you okay?” Pierre Baigorry aka Peter Fox, one of the two frontmen, yells happily into the crowd. The fans applauded. Fox starts jumping – and the people of Rostock do the same without asking. At the latest when he hits one of Seeed’s most famous hits, “Augenbling”, he has fans firmly under control.

They all jump, sing and dance. “I’ve missed you so much,” exclaims frontman Frank A. Dellé. Sing with us. Berliners repeatedly encourage the audience to join in or sing the choir in solitude.

Relaxed atmosphere
While hundreds of fans enjoy crowds on the stage, many still line up at the beer and merchandise stalls during the show, buying French fries, sausages, sheep’s cheese, and sweets. Also in snakes, people dance and sing to the beat. Only the sometimes high prices – around six euros for a beer – make some visitors incomprehensible. Stumpen, the lead singer of the Berlin band Knorkator, is impressed by the atmosphere. “I always like to see how good the better teams are,” he says with a laugh. He might have seen Seeed in Berlin, but it was too big for him there. “I’m amazed it’s so big here,” he says.

Elisabeth Nierath and her sisters made themselves comfortable on the spacious lawn. “We’re here to dance and we need a place for that,” explains the 29-year-old. Nurse Charlotte Schwarz gives up: “Maybe we’ll go a little further later later.”

Setlist: something for every taste
Rostock women emphasize: Seeed has something for everyone – both “party music for dancing” and “reggae for relaxation”. In addition to old famous hits such as “Ding”, “Aufstehn” and “Dickes B”, the stars on stage also perform Peter Fox’s titles such as “shake your bacon” or “Schwarz zu blau”, as well as newer songs such as ” Geld ”or“ Come to my house ”. Everyone knows a thing or two about Seeed, says Anna Henke. “A lot of things sound familiar, at least when you hear them,” says the 31-year-old. Together with Anika Leschke she spontaneously came to Park Iga. “We wondered why the train was so full and then I went spontaneously,” says Leschke, who was able to buy tickets at the box office. “There were really no such concerts.”

Summary: Successful start to the concert marathon
The Seeed musicians also emphasize several times that they are glad to be able to make music again. Berliners manage to warm up the audience properly. Sing, dance, celebrate the end of the week. Of course, the band has a lot of fun playing a few encores – and finally says goodbye to Rostock after almost two hours. Successful start to the concert marathon in Iga Park.
