Löwenberger country. Behind the youth fire department of Löwenberger Land a weekend full of excitement, games and fun awaits. After a two-year hiatus caused by the crown, seven community extinction groups in Neuendorf came together to revive their traditional event. On Friday evening, about 40 children and young people with their guardians went to the holiday and guest house to spend wonderful hours together.

The youth city guard, Lisa Hoffmann, prepared a station run in the forest between Neuendorf and Neuhof with the support of individual firefighting groups. “There, you had to demonstrate not only your firefighting knowledge, but also your own skills and ability to work in a team” – she reported.

The water was quickly pumped out of the lake with the help of two portable pumps, and then back down through the foil – made the undisputed highlight of the day, from which not only the youth fire brigades took advantage of one or the other cooling off in the rays of the sun and an outside temperature of 26 degrees.

“The superiors were having a good time, too,” laughed Lisa Hoffmann. After a nice round of barbecue, everyone was sweating again: children and adolescents from 8 to 17 years old competed with their youth guardians in a fierce game. “Adults did not stand a chance against wise and agile children.”

Barely all the tired went to bed when the alarm rang again on Sunday morning. After breakfast, the award ceremony for the station’s running took place, during which the children and youth were presented with medals and diplomas for outstanding achievements.

“I would like to thank all the youth guards in Löwenberger Land, the commander of the city guard and administration, for their great support and cooperation,” summed up the delighted city director of youth affairs. Many thanks also go to the parents of the children who provided a feast for the palate with homemade cakes.

Other youth rangers were also enthusiastic after the weekend. “Above all, the water slide, which also attracted many bathers with children, was an absolute highlight,” said Danilo Zietz, youth manager of the Teschendorf fire group. “But it was a lot of fun to play between the carers and the children and teenagers.”
