While Greifswald’s doubles “A-Quadrat” secured themselves first in the duo, “Team Nehme” from Ueckermünde ensured that the victory of the day in the quattro mix continued in the 23rd edition of the Ueckermünde beach tournament. In the U16 female age group, the duo from Energie Cottbus took first place.

The tournament organizer and father Bastke was particularly pleased with the performance of the U12 women’s teams of his SV Unit Ueckermünde, who have already won two national titles this year: Alina Justus and Frederike Sichau (“Team A”) played in their age group, as did Christina Justus and Lara Rothbart (“Juicy Fruits”) had a great tournament, they were left behind by the well-known teams from Schwerin, Cottbus and Neubrandenburg and finally took the first two places. “The girls have once again proved that they can keep up with the volleyball bastion teams and have excellent technique,” said coaches Antje Pecker and Frank Justus. “It couldn’t have been better.”

The happy Gerhard Bastke left Ueckermünde Beach after the last party in front of the “Hischke” buffet that evening for the last time as head of the volleyball department at SV Unit Ueckermünde: 18 years after assuming a management position with volleyball pioneer Günter Funke, Ferdinandshofer is over. “Unfortunately, health reasons force me to give up my position,” Bastke said.
