St. Georgen: St. Georgen: a festival site for games and fun

The city festival will be held in St. Georgen on Saturday and Sunday 2nd and 3rd July. For two days, the city center turns into a big festival mile and offers tons of games, fun and entertainment for all ages.

The city festival community together with the city administration organize two different days after a two-year absence due to the crown. 20 local clubs organize a city festival which takes place on the upper Gerwigstraße, on Schulstraße, in the courtyard of the Robert Gerwig School and in the city garden. This year the market will not be included in the city festival. Mayor Michael Rieger will open the city festival on Saturday at 2pm with a barrel hit on the main stage on Gerwigstrasse. Additionally, city music will play, which will then give a concert in the square.

In the afternoon, there will be a musical performance by students of the St. Georgen-Furtwangen. Singer and songwriter Silke Vogt from St. Georgen. As the main performance, Bregi House Band will provide entertainment from 21:00. A formation with musicians from the Villingen-Schwenningen region creates a good atmosphere thanks to a wide repertoire of soul, rock and blues from the late 1960s to more current titles and invites you to celebrate and dance.

On Saturday from 21:00 in Stadtgarten there will be the festival disco Area 51 with DJs from St. Georgen Nik Kegan and Le Luke with guest DJ Balloonz from Freiburg.

On Sunday, July 3, the festival will start at 10 ecumenical service on the upper Gerwigstrasse. Then Trachtenmusikverein Langenschiltach plays the morning mug. In the afternoon the Thomas-Strittmatter-Gymnasium orchestra and the city band play. In the afternoon, the youth groups of the gymnastic club present their skills on the city terrace.

After the performance of the Guggenmusik Bergstadtfetzer at 17:00, the drawing of the big lottery begins. The main prize is a voucher worth 6,000 euros from the Singer Cycling Center in Villingen-Schwenningen. The second and third prizes are € 1,000 and € 500 cash. The fourth prize is a EUR 300 travel voucher and the fifth is a truck voucher worth EUR 200.

20,000 games, each for one euro, are available at the clubs and at the headquarters in the town hall.

On both days of the festival, a proven entertainment and practical program is available for visitors of all ages. There is a rose shooting range, a fishing and throwing game for kids, fun milking the cows, a climbing wall, bungee trampoline and much more. The Robert Gerwig School invites you to the fun street in the monastery courtyard.

The food and drink assortment is also varied as usual. From farm ham and Schupfnudeln to Camembert, from Viertigsprägel to Striebele, there is something for everyone. Drinks offered include beer and soft drinks, as well as delicious cocktails.

Admission and parking

St. Georgen starts on Saturday at 13:00 and on Sunday at 10:00. Admission to the festival and parking in the city center are free, but parking is limited. Arrival by public transport is recommended. (pronoun)

A festival for young and old

Parallel to the city festival, on Saturday, July 2, there will be a city festival run by the support association of the gymnastics association with the support of the city authorities. Ambitious recreational runners can take part in a variety of runs with different lengths of run. Bambini will run from 1pm onwards. The student run of 1,300 meters starts at 1.30 p.m. The five-kilometer run of the Sparkasse Schwarzwald-Baar starts at 2 p.m. for those born in 2010 and above. The 10.50 km Volksbank Schwarzwald-Baar Hegau run for participants born in 2006 and older starts at 15:00. There is also a team and company cup ranking. Also at 3 p.m. the Ebm Half Marathon starts for runners born in 2004 and older.

St. Georgen starts at 15.10. Here, each participant can choose a route for 5 or 10.5 kilometers. There are no age limits, all types of running are allowed, including Nordic walking. Time is measured without placing. Late registrations are possible on the day of the race up to one hour before the race in question at the town hall. (pronoun)
