The DKSH Performance Materials business unit has signed an agreement to acquire Georg Breuer GmbH (GBFI), a German distributor of herbal ingredients for the food industry. This transaction is in line with DKSH’s strategy aimed at increasing the reach of the European market and extending the scope of value-added services.
DKSH has signed an agreement to acquire GBFI, a supplier of functional ingredients for the food industry. Founded in 1992, the company is headquartered in Königstein / Taunus, near Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Should investors sell immediately? Or maybe it’s worth getting started with Dksh?
Sustainable food solutions
GBFI offers sustainable food solutions with an emphasis on vegan, organic and gluten-free products, as well as reducing salt and sugar. GBFI also provides its customers with value-added services including research and development, application customization, and technical and regulatory support.
With this acquisition, DKSH is expanding its food ingredient business in Europe, particularly in the promising segment of healthy plant-based foods. The acquisition also complements the Victa Foods acquisition signed earlier this year. GBFI has a lean organization with 17 highly qualified employees.
The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2022.
Georg Breuer, CEO of GBFI commented: “Over the past 30 years, we have built a successful plant-based food ingredient company. Together with our partners, we have used our knowledge to develop vegan and vegetarian products in close cooperation with our customers. Thanks to DKSH, we have found a strong partner with whom we will continue to develop our business areas, and thanks to our shared knowledge, we will continue to be an innovative and reliable partner for the food industry ”.
