Events depicted in the Donau-Ries 2022: Date Review

Many important events are planned in Ries in 2022, including runs, the city wall festival and the historic market, and of course the Nördlinger Mess.

Noerdlingen and Ries, in theory, we will have many big events this year, starting with the Ipf-Ries Half Marathon on May 7th. The popular Stabenfest takes place just a few days later and is celebrated from May 13 to 15, which is why the Stabenmontag falls on May 16. Children should be tested before moving. Another highlight of the year: the Nördlinger Messe from 18 to 26 June at the Kaiserwiese. Of course, everything stands and falls as the pandemic progresses. But lovers of the city and the mess do not let go of hope.

Nördlingen is also sporty in July. The city race in Nördlingen “Nördlingen runs around” is planned for Saturday 9 July. The popular old town flea market in Nördlingen is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 6, according to the current state.

Feast of the historic city walls on the weekend of September 9-11, 2022.

With the sounds of medieval music, with camp life and historical costumes, let’s hope that in September the whole city will move to the Middle Ages. At the Nördlingen City Wall Festival 2022, from September 9-11, parades and medieval performances should take place again within the city walls.

Daniel Wizinger is responsible for tourism and events in the city of Nördlingen and gives an insight into the current work of his department. “We are currently in the planning phase and are sticking to the schedule as always. We just need to see how we can react in a short time, ”he says. Right now you are not at the point where you have to decide for or against the festival. Says, “We still have air.” At the moment they have nothing but hope. “We have to prepare for anything and then react as flexibly as possible.”

Oettingen Historical Market: Scenarios Played Out

The historic market is at least planned Oettingen from 27 to 29 May. The club, which has been organizing a great festival for many years, plans carefully. CEO Christoph Schaffer says: “We are careful with our investments. Printing posters or buying banners is on the back. ‘ It can also be done in no time. “The last two years have taught us that nothing can be predicted. So we have to wait and see what is coming and be sure, ”says the president.

However, the team is already dealing with possible scenarios, such as entry for those who have recovered and those who have been vaccinated, i.e. 2G. Status checks would then have to be included in the previous entry check. You have to think how many people you can do this with.

There are more festivals on the Oettingen city’s calendar of events this year. Among them is Jakobi-Kirchweih from July 29 to August 2 with the popular cabaret format in a tent, this time with Luise Kinseher (Tuesday, August 2). Summer in the City takes place on August 13, and even the Christmas market has a specific date: if you feel like it, you can make a note of the period from November 24 to 27. Anja Friedel from tourist information confirms that planning is progressing. “The status now is that we want everyone to have a place,” he says in an interview with the editor. They are also positive and hope it can be done.

The 34th Oettinger Triathlon will be held on Saturday, August 7th. Registration is possible until August 1. The organizers point out that due to the pandemic, no relay races will probably be possible.

Festivals in the Donau-Ries district and around 2022

Ipfmesse in Bopfingen with an amusement park, beer gardens, vineyards and an exhibition tent will be held in 2022 from 1-5 July. In February, the mayor took a positive stance towards the festival.

Simon Zips is also starting another trial with his “Camping Battleground Festival” in Nittingen, which was planned several times but never realized. There will be metal and games at the campsite from 19 to 22 May.

After a two-year break, on July 14-17, Wassertrüdingen will again host the African-Caribbean Festival – AKF for short. On its website, however, the organizer points out: “Unfortunately, no one is able to estimate what the requirements in this regard will look like in July 2022. the same because one thing is clear: we would rather celebrate AKF with 2G requirements than not at all. ” However, the team wants to seize every opportunity to keep visitor requirements as low as possible.

You are also full of anticipation foreigners in connection with the fourth edition of the already ongoing wind music festival “Blasius”. From 22 to 24 July, “the dusty image of brass band music will be polished again” at Grünhofwiesen, says chairman of the organizing music association, Benjamin Seefried. Following the cancellation of the festival in 2020 and 2021 due to a pandemic, there is now a spirit of optimism in Fremdingen. Seefried says: “The intersection of young, fresh brass band music with rock and hip-hop elements is what makes it so attractive and creates a family feel,” the only big unknown is the final draft hygiene regulations. Tickets can already be purchased online in advance, and from mid-March they are also available at regional ticket offices in advance.

Tickets are now available at Wuzdog in Dornstadt in the Donau-Ries district. For 2020, it was canceled by the organizers before the pandemic started and, like all festivals, it could not be held in 2021. But there is a new attempt this year.
