All lovers of classical music in and around Nettetal can look forward to the long-awaited return of the concert in the palace courtyard at Krickenbeck Castle after a three-year hiatus. On Sunday, August 14, Kulturkreis der Wirtschaft in Nettetal (KDW) will present the orchestra of the German Chamber Academy Neuss under the direction of its chief conductor Christoph Koncz. The program includes a summer concert of classical music with the classics of Mozart, Dworak and Tchaikovsky.

The concert afternoon will open with one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s most famous concerts. “Divertimento for Strings in D major KV 136” is one of the most important “Salzburg symphonies” by young Mozart and is characterized by a fresh and expressive style. Still undisturbed by its subsequent worldwide fame, the only 34-year-old Dvořák wrote one of his most beautiful and inspiring works over 100 years later. Among his numerous chamber works, the “Serenade in E major Op. 22 for string orchestra” stands out. In five parts, Dvořák transformed the most wonderful Czech melodies and themes in immeasurable abundance. Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky was an ardent admirer of Mozart’s music, which is why his “String Serenade in C major Op. 48 ”can also be considered“ the cult of Mozart ”. Nevertheless, the work is deeply romantic: maximum sonority, powerful dances, elegant and serenaded light.

The Orchestra of the German Chamber Academy Neuss (DKN) is made up of young, very talented musicians who will graduate soon or after their music studies. Enthusiasm and the utmost willingness to perform combine at DKN to create ravishing music. This made the young ensemble one of the “leading chamber orchestras in Germany”, as the music magazine das Orchester put it. Artists from different nations develop a special understanding and community that delivers unique results both at the Arsenal Neusser and at the world podium and in the recording studio. Thanks to the OPUS KLASSIK, DKN received last season’s most important German Classic Award. In the category “SYMPHONY RECORDS – up to and including the 18th century”, she managed to convince the professional jury with her recording of the symphony Op. IV by the discovered composer François-Joseph Gossec. More than 40 consecutive CD recordings are important milestones on the way to the success of DKN.

The entrance fee is 30 euros. Tickets are still on sale on the KdW website phone: 0157/37867363 or by e-mail ( available.

The young Austrian conductor Christoph Koncz is one of the greatest musicians of his generation. After his conducting debut at the Mozart Week in Salzburg in 2013, they performed in the most important concert halls of the German-speaking world (including the Philharmonic in Berlin, Cologne and Munich, the Vienna Konzerthaus and KKL Lucerne), as well as at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and at the Salzburg Festival. Christoph Koncz has been Principal Conductor of the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss am Rhein since 2019, as well as Principal Guest Conductor of the French original sound ensemble Les Musiciens du Louvre. He regularly conducts renowned orchestras around the world, such as the Orchester de la Suisse Romande, Philharmonia Orchestra London, Orchester Métropolitain de Montréal and the Hong Kong Philharmonic.

“We want to build pre-2019 concerts in the great palace courtyard, when visitors were stormed with enthusiasm,” explains Reinhard Klumpen, 1st President of KdW.
