International professionals visit a ballet performance in Karlsruhe
Kick-off event in collaboration between Badisches Staatstheater and Welcome Center TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe: “International Come Together Special”

The Welcome Center of the Karlsruhe Technology Region and Badisches Staatstheater have joined forces to bring international professionals to the Badisches Staatstheater and thus offer them another opportunity for cultural and social integration in the region.
In this context, the State Theater invites you to a cultural tasting twice a year. The premiere of the format took place on July 21, 2022: almost 40 foreign viewers attended Bridget Breiner’s “What you want” ballet performance.

Before the performance began in the foyer, there was a lightning-fast round of performances during which everyone introduced themselves by name and country of origin. It turned out that the participants came from different countries: from China to India to Colombia, but also Slovenia and Iraq were represented.
“The valuable collaboration with Badisches Staatstheater enables us to visit the ballet together with clients and guests from all over the world. It’s a great addition to the Welcome Center portfolio, ”says Petra Bender, head of TRK’s Welcome Center. For several years, she has been running the “International Come Together” format, ie after-work meetings for international specialists.

During a special edition at the Badisches Staatstheater, Grit Werner welcomed the guests on behalf of the Managing Director of the Staatstheater and wished them a wonderful evening. “Of course I hope you will find theater even more interesting tonight!”
For many of those present it was the first visit to a ballet, so the expectation for this experience was correspondingly high. As the German language continues to be an obstacle for some international professionals, the Badisches Staatstheater’s ‘International Come Together Special’ program does not focus on spoken theater but on opera, concerts and ballet.

After a short round of performances, there were lively conversations over champagne and appetizers, as well as waiting for the rest of the evening, which, together with the dancers, scenery and music, should provide lasting impressions, numerous discussions and curiosity about further social gatherings. and cultural experiences.
