For the fifth time, “Coming and Going” invites you to special concerts in Zittau, Bautzen, Görlitz and other places. The highlight is the show of folk songs.

From Friday, August 12, the Festival of the Association of Six Cities “Coming and Going” will celebrate its fifth anniversary with interspecies concerts ranging from early music to electronics, a 3D sound installation and a “Volkslied3000” show in unusual places such as the narrow street of Zittau. -track railway, Bautzen II monument and in Stadthallenpark Görlitz. The Central German Baroque composer Heinrich Schütz, whose death is 350 years old, is celebrated under the slogan “Time Jumps”.

The festival will begin at 3 p.m. with the festival music train on the Narrow Gauge Railway in Żytawa. Capella de la Torre plays at the concert “Heinrich Schütz and his children” with electronic artists. “The early music ensemble is in demand all over Germany as an interpreter of Schütz and is known for its rich palette of instrumental tones on historic wind instruments such as shawl, pommer, dulcian and cornetti,” says the organizer. The second part of the innovative concert in historical performance practice with electronic recompositions will take place at 19.30 in the illuminated ruins of the Oybin monastery church.

During the opening of the sound installation “Kaleidoskop der Raumen” by Fabian Russ on August 13 at 15.00, Lausitzer Barockensemble immerses himself in the music played in Upper Lusatia during the lifetime of Heinrich Schütz. 00 you can experience part of education and representation, but also free time.

The highlight of the five years will be the closing event “Volkslied3000. The Show ”with Alix Coen and Max Prosa, Die Grenzgänger, Tonia Reeh and João Orecchia and others, on August 21 at 17:00 in Stadthallengarten in Görlitz. In response to the questions “Do we need new folk songs?” and “If so, what should they be?” the festival together with the Neuköllner Oper and Berlin’s award-winning creative studio “KlingKlangKlong” kicked off a song competition The lyrics of the folk songs were created with the help of artificial intelligence that composers, songwriters and songwriters-songwriters have set into music. Following a great response, the five winners will be announced in the program and can present their folk songs. A cash prize of 1,000 euros awaits.
