Fun from A (schenputtel) to Z (wergenlala)

Theatrical performances for children in the Selm common room are among the most popular family events in the region. The current program will not change that. Contrary.

Bürgerhaus Selm: Girls and boys mostly slide impatiently across the floor in front of the stage. They can’t wait to see what’s happening on stage. It is colorful, loud and cheerful. Guarantee.

This will probably be the case by the end of the year and by mid-2023. Kathrin Disse, who works at Kulturbüro Selm, has prepared the following program:

Concert with Fritz Bender “Zwergenlala” (from 4 years):

September 4, 2022 at 11:00 (5 euros for adults, 3 euros for children) in the Selm clubhouse, Willy-Brandt-Platz.

This is what it is all about: Fritzi sings about a bird, about being different, about forgotten lyrics and a tired mouse. He raps, dances and gibberishes his entrails – also with his audience. It communicates the joy of music and invites you to join in and sing together.

“Oh, how beautiful Panama is” children’s theater (from 4 years):

September 25, 2022 at 11:00 am (5 euros for adults, 3 euros for children) in the Selm common room.

That’s the point: while fishing in the river, a bear finds a box from Panama that smells so good of bananas. Together with the baby tiger, they plan a trip with the tiger duck to the land of their dreams. Performed by thedios Alledem Theater from Bielefeld.

Children’s theater “Rumpelsztyk or: everything else remains a mystery” (from 4 years):

October 23, 2022 at 11:00 (5 euros for adults, 3 euros for children) in the Selm common room.

That’s the point: the miller and the king agree, so the miller’s daughter has to sleep in a straw room with a spinning wheel. That someone helped her spin the gold that night remains a mystery – but not the only one. Performed by the Tamalan Theater from Fintel.

Children’s Theater “Milchstraße 21” (from 4 years):

November 20, 2022 at 11:00 (5 euros for adults, 3 euros for children) in the Selm common room.

That’s what it’s all about: a fun alien game. Lisa and Tom meet after school at their favorite meeting place, where the rat-mice, as usual, throw the garbage from the trash they live in to have their apartment tidy. The Sonswas Theater plays with expressive characters, accompanied by music.

Children’s theater “Tomorrow comes the Christmas rooster” (from 4 years):

December 4, 2022 at 11:00 (5 euros for adults, 3 euros for children) in the Selm common room.

That’s the point: the chickens Gertrud, Linda, Juanita and the rooster Serge just can’t sleep. Outside, the farmer cleans and scrubs the entire yard and sings Christmas carols. Chickens solve the problem in a wonderfully human way. Performed by the Hille Pupille Theater from Dülmen.

This is what it is all about: Laura looks out the window when a star suddenly falls on the sidewalk. The story of the wounded star is a family story in which brother Tom, mom and dad and a teddy bear play an important role. Staged by the figure theater WODO Puppenspiel in Mülheim.

This is what it is all about: The Complizen Theater is a fun way to bring children closer to an important feeling and counteract fear to the point of a cuddly toy: with music, practical elements and lots of fun.

This is what it is all about: Felix, Sophie’s lost plush bunny, travels the world and has many adventures. Thanks to the letters Felix sends her regularly, Sophie learns a lot about the cities and countries where her beloved toy bunny travels. Performed by the WODO puppet theater in Mülheim.

Letters from Felix are available on May 7, 2023.
