Sustainability in focus
The entire concept, organization and implementation of “Bestival” is in line with the sustainable development strategy based on the criteria of the “Sustainable Meetings Berlin” initiative and ISO 20121 for sustainable event management from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) follows. For example, full CO2 offsetting is carried out by a certified supplier “Atmosfair” in accordance with the Gold Standard. All service providers, including those in their supply chain, are required to work green and to measure and document their emissions. In Café Moscow, the main site of Bestival, daylight is used and lighting is kept to a minimum, the ventilation system is only for ventilation, not for cooling. All catering for Bestival is vegetarian or vegan. The aim is to implement “Bestival” in a climate-neutral manner in the long term.
