Welcome: Concerts 4 Seasons 2022/23 in Henkell! All dates and all artists at a glance | Your news and topical news for Neuss

Henkell & Co. Sektkellerei KG

The traditional Henkell concert series has resumed. The rule of thumb remains the same: mostly young musicians whose talent is already hailed as “the stars of tomorrow”, but the concept of 4 seasons is new and as simple as it is memorable. There is one concert per season, one genre per concert. A concert of classical music gives the starting signal to celebrate the end of the season with jazz and world music with unconventional sounds. Friday December 16, 2022 – Classic
Folk and Baroque Ensemble

Expressive, virtuoso and thrilling – thanks to the concert programs of Ensemble Folk Baroque, it blurs the boundaries between folk and baroque music, while at the same time devoting itself to historically informed performance practice.
The tight concert schedule took three musicians at home and abroad. They performed on stages and festivals of international renown, incl Oude Muziek Festival Utrechtdown The Brugge Festival, this Innsbruck Early Music Festival, Early Music Days Regensburg or Menuhin Festival Gstaad. This resulted in several radio recordings, incl. from Bayern 4 Klassik, MDR and WDR 3 radio stations.
Young musicians learned and studied with early music specialists such as Dorothee Oberlinger, Maurice Steger, Michael Schneider, Luca Pianca and Hopkinson Smith. You are a laureate of numerous scholarships and laureates of international competitions, including Tel Aviv International Registration Competition or Concorso di Musica Antica Maurizio Pratola.

Friday March 17, 2023 – Jazz
Raphael Klemm’s Sextet

This Raphael Klemm’s Sextet Inspires with art that has become a rarity on many stages: swinging, fresh and dust-free combo jazz, inspired by the sound of the hard bop era and the most important improvisers and arrangers of that time.
Stylish and at the same time unlimited, aware of tradition – but always interesting, sometimes virtuoso, sometimes gentle, individual soloists and fused as a band through many years of joint projects, the sextet around the trombonist from Cologne Raphael Klemm plays tailored arrangements of exquisite treasures from the history of jazz and own compositions describe a common sonic ideal.
The musicians of this “Dream Band” come from Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Essen and Munich and are among the most sought-after musicians of their generation. Thanks to the highest-class musicality, thrilling arrangements and lots of fun to play, they convince the audience that traditional jazz with a modern approach is in the best hands in this formation.
In 2016, the sextet received a performance scholarship from Werner Richard – Dr. Carl Dorken Foundation Award. In 2017, the band collaborated with Johan Hörlen (WDR Bigband), Frank Delle and Fiete Felsch (NDR Bigband) as well as Mark Doffey and Malte Dürrschnabel as “special guests”.

    1. June 16, 2023 – OPEN AIR concert World Music

Miroca Paris
Creole-Portuguese-African musical experience presented by a multi-instrumentalist virtuoso.
Cape Verdean multi-instrumentalist Miroca Paris inspires the world as a percussion, percussion and guitar virtuoso, and moves with his own songs “Saudade”! In his homeland, the new adopted country of Portugal, and also in Germany.
Thoughtful melancholy resounds in Miroka’s lyrics, which she sings in a rough voice, accompanied by a thrilling percussion or a very individual guitar playing. Rhythmic and dynamic, like the waves of the Atlantic, they ring out longing harmonies and let the spirit wander through the sleepy archipelago.
No wonder, after all, he is also considered a “rhythm innovator” in Cape Verde, was recognized by the pop icon Madonna, shared the stage with her and previously toured with Cesaria Evora’s band for over ten years. She is considered the queen of the Cape Verdean Morna musical genre, the musical sister of Fado.
On his debut album “D’Alma” (2017), recorded with famous musicians from Brazil to Cuba, he impressively interpreted the cultural cocktail of this volcanic archipelago with its Creole-Portuguese-African culture.
Miroca Paris, the most famous descendant of the legendary “Parisian family of musicians” from Cape Verde, has been perfecting his craft for over two decades, shining with layers and colors of sounds, beats, rhythmic backbone, nuances and individual details alongside international stars such as Sara Tavares, Angélique Kidjo, Bonga, Camané, Mariza, Chico Cesar, Cuca Roseta, Nancy Vieira, Bitori and of course with his uncle Tito Paris in the most prestigious theaters, festivals and universities in the world.

    1. September 15, 2023 – Experimental
    2. wood

In 1998, three friends from Recklinghausen embarked on a musical journey that has not ended to this day. Under the slogan “Freedom for the recorder” they are on the way with their unusual composition of the recorder, guitar and double bass to introduce people to their kind of wooden music. From dark cellar vaults to familiar scenes, from the far north to the deepest south: Everywhere they provide amazed and ultimately enthusiastic listeners.
They move between rock and jazz, ballads and children’s songs and create something very special, dense, moving wooden sound: ingeniously intertwined lines of the guitar and double bass, amazing changes in pace and mood, and masterly improvisation.
The range of instruments has also expanded over the years. At concerts, up to 15 recorders are used, from a small sopranino to a large, two-meter sub-bass recorder. The guitar and the double bass are now joined by a mandolin, a jazz guitar and sometimes even a musical saw. What has not changed is the unbridled joy of playing three wild wooden boys. This will be enough for another 25 years …
